Hundreds of community members gathered for Forest Fest at Williams Park on Saturday, September 28 to celebrate BC National Forest Week. Attendees explored the park and enjoyed nature with a variety of fun, educational activities, presentations, and seedlings for people to take home and plant.
Some of the activities and presentations included a Raptors Ridge Birds of Prey presentation, chain saw carving by Ben Hemara, games and activities including kid’s axe throwing, a scavenger hunt, educational panels, exhibitor booths, and more.
“Forest Fest is an opportunity to celebrate the beauty and importance of our parks. By coming together to learn more about parks and nature, and how we can protect them, we can ensure that future generations can enjoy these precious ecosystems,” said Township Mayor Eric Woodward.
