The Township’s free holiday event, Holiday Lights in Williams Park, ended on December 29, wrapping up 19 nights of festive fun and memories for approximately 100,000 guests who attended from December 9 to 29.
More than 33,000 vehicles drove the loop through Williams Park, which featured over 180,000 lights and festive displays such as Candy Cane Lane and a butterfly garden.
For the duration of the event, Aldergrove Food Bank volunteers were on-site collecting monetary donations. The total amount raised was $55,498.33 that will go directly to support those in need in our community.
The Township received so much positive feedback from community members on this amazing free, family event and staff are already working on plans for the 2025 holiday event.
“Holiday Lights in Williams Park was a tremendous success this year, with over $55,000 raised for the Aldergrove Food Bank," stated Township of Langley Mayor Eric Woodward. “I want to thank all the staff, volunteers, and sponsors, who helped put on this event to make it so great for the community and underscored the importance of providing accessible and joyful experiences for our residents.”
A special thank you to residents who live in the area around Williams Park. We appreciate your patience and support of this event, and we hope that by implementing advance registration and a resident standby area with vehicle escorts, that we were able to alleviate past issues and concerns.
Thank you to all our event sponsors for their contributions and support of this community event. Holiday Lights received $32,500 in sponsorship funds that helped offset operational and staffing costs.
