Ready to reopen?
For businesses that are part of the BC Restart Plan, Phase 2, here are some resources to help you get ready to open and operate safely during a pandemic.
COVID-19 safe plan
WorkSafeBC has created a COVID-19 and Returning to Safe Operation page to provide general guidance on developing reopening plans. It lays out a six-step process for employers to follow when preparing to return to operation safely, in a manner that reduces the potential for COVID-19 transmission. A planning tool will soon be available online to assist employers in applying this process in their workplace.
Tip sheets
Use these tip sheets from the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety as a guide while operating safely during a pandemic. Each document offers health and safety tips and good practices for both employers and workers, specific to each industry or sector. Note that the guidance provided in these tip sheets cover just some of the adjustments organizations can make. For further information on COVID-19, refer to the Public Health Agency of Canada.
*New* List of local safety products suppliers
A list of local suppliers carrying safety products businesses may need to comply with WorkSafeBC’s guidelines is now available on our website. If you are a local supplier of safety products and would like to be on this list please email us at invest@tol.ca.
Does your company require PPE?
As Canada's industries return to work, there is an increased demand for personal protective equipment (PPE). The Rapid Response Platform automatically matches Canadian supply with demand, simplifying supplier discovery during the procurement process.
Online gift card platform
SupportLocalBC in partnership with LOCO BC has created a website for gift card sales online direct-to-consumer at no cost to local independent businesses. Businesses do not need to supply physical plastic cards as customers will purchase digital cards online. Businesses will receive the full value paid by e-transfer each month. Visit SupportLocalBC and sign up for this free opportunity to build your customer base online.
Free 1-year LOCO BC membership
LOCO BC is offering a free one-year membership to local small businesses. Get listed in the LOCO BC member directory, be promoted to newsletter and social media followers, get access to their extended health care plans, and more. Sign up for free before this promotion ends!
