BC Restart Plan - Phase 3 industry reopenings
As Phase 3 of the BC Restart Plan begins, additional industries are permitted to reopen across the province. This includes movie theatres, parks, hotels, and resorts as well as the motion picture and television production industry.
Starting in July, residents and businesses in the Township can expect to see a slow and gradual return of the motion picture and television production industry to our community. For more information on how the industry has prepared for a safe restart, visit Creative BC.
New business grants available
Local Marketing Grant Program
Canadian-based Postmedia Solutions is offering a Local Marketing Grant Program to registered Canadian businesses and non-profit organizations. This initiative strives to strengthen communities and help boost economic growth one business at a time. Local experts will work directly with you to understand your business, set goals, and implement a thoughtful marketing strategy. Grants range from $500-$15,000 per month per client for June, July, and August 2020. Learn more and apply for the grant through Postmedia Solutions.
Innovate BC Ignite Program
Innovate BC, a provincial agency, supports tech ventures to start-up, scale-up, and stay in BC. Their Ignite Program provides up to $300,000 to fund innovation projects in the areas of natural resources, applied science, and engineering. BC Hydro Self-Serve Incentive Program
If you are a BC Hydro industrial customer and use more than 500 megawatt-hours of electricity per year, you may be eligible to receive up to 75% in upgrade funding. BC Hydro’s Self-Serve Incentive Program makes funding available for upgrade projects related to industrial lighting and compressed air systems. In addition to operating cost savings and reducing potential for production interruptions, investing in an upgrade project also supports the local economy. Learn more about this BC Hydro program.
Register your business in the Township's new Bids and Tenders Portal
The Township of Langley now has a bid opportunity website which allows bidders to create a vendor account that will notify them when a bid opportunity matching their goods and services comes available.
This digital procurement process eliminates paper, ensures every bid received is complete and compliant, and removes any conflict or discrepancy behind bid closing and acceptance. COVID-19 safety commitment initiative
The Township has launched a Safety Commitment Initiative for local businesses to show the steps they have taken to keep customers and employees safe while shopping or receiving services during COVID-19. Look for the COVID-19 Safety Statement on the store front or website of your local shops.
To receive a COVID-19 Safety Statement or digital decal for your business, submit a picture of your COVID-19 Safety Plan to invest@tol.ca. See a list of local business that are participating and learn more about the initiative at invest.tol.ca/open.

BC Tech Association has a HyperTech Digital Audit program which offers one-on-one engagement with a technology expert who will review your business technology and provide recommendations to improve your efficiency.
