Join Clean up Langley Day on April 29
Spring is a great time to get outside and help keep the Township of Langley looking beautiful. Families, individuals, businesses, and community groups are invited to make a difference hosting or joining a group collecting litter on Clean up Langley Day.
This year’s event will take place Saturday, April 29 from 9:00am to 2:00pm in various locations across the municipality.
“Clean up Langley Day is a great opportunity to come together and make a positive difference in your community,” said Township of Langley Sustainability Program Specialist, Mallory Palliyaguru. “Your cleanup efforts on April 29 can help keep public spaces clean, and accessible as they get busier in the warmer months ahead.”
Clean up Langley Day encourages residents to choose a street, park, trail, or creek to clean up during the event, which takes place rain or shine. Most cleanups last anywhere from 30 minutes to a few hours. Litter collection will be arranged and all necessary supplies, such as garbage bags, gloves, safety vests, and garbage pickers can be supplied by the Township to those who register by Friday, April 21.
You can join an existing cleanup effort, become a Cleanup Captain by hosting an event for others to join, or simply work independently or alongside a crew of your choosing. Please register online at tol.ca/cleanup as soon as possible, as supplies are limited.
Clean Up Langley Day is part of the Township of Langley’s Adopt-a-Program, a stewardship program that invites residents and organizations to undertake a cleanup once or on a recurring basis. Those who are unable to take part in Clean up Langley Day but would like to organize a cleanup effort are encouraged to visit tol.ca/adopt.
