Lawn watering prohibited under Stage 2 restrictions
Stage 2 water restrictions which prohibit all lawn watering are now in effect in the Township of Langley. The restrictions are being implemented by Metro Vancouver as the region continues to experience high water demand.
Stage 2 water restrictions also prohibit the top up or filling of aesthetic water features, and the washing of impermeable surfaces, unless the work is performed for reasons of health, safety or to prepare a surface for painting or similar treatment, or if aesthetic cleaning is performed by a commercial cleaning operation.
Washing cars is still allowed, and garden, tree, shrub, and flowerbed water restrictions remain unchanged from Stage 1. Residential garden sprinkling is permitted 5 to 9am any day, and non-residential garden watering is permitted 4 to 9am any day. These areas may be watered any day at any time by hand, soaker hose, or drip irrigation.
