The main blaze has been put down however crews remain onsite ensuring complete suppression is achieved, while protecting surrounding properties and investigating the fire with RCMP.
We ask the public to continue avoiding the area at this time.
Due to a large residential structure fire on the Langley-Surrey border, areas around the 7300-block of 196 Street are impacted, with some roads closed, while Fire crews work to extinguish the blaze.
196 Street is closed between 72 and 74 Avenues, with several side streets impacted also.
Motorists and road users are asked to avoid the area and find alternate routes to allow fire crews to work unobstructed.
When additional confirmed information is available it will be provided by the Fire Department and/or RCMP.
