Memorial crosswalk installed to commemorate local veterans
As a lasting tribute to local veterans, Township of Langley staff designed and installed decorative road markings at the three driveway entrances of the Aldergrove Royal Canadian Legion Branch. The installations feature red and white stripes with a soldier silhouette and the inscription “Lest We Forget.”
These memorial crosswalks serve as a visible reminder of the community’s respect and gratitude to local veterans for their service.
The work was completed by Roads Operations staff using Methyl Methacrylate (MMA) durable road marking materials, consistent with the Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) and Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Canada (MUTCDC) guidelines. All markings were placed at off-street driveway entrances to minimize maintenance requirements, ensure compliance with national standards, and preserve the intended commemorative appearance.
Township staff wish to express their appreciation to the Aldergrove Royal Canadian Legion for their collaboration and support throughout the duration of the project.
The Aldergrove Royal Canadian Legion welcomes the public to commemorate our local veterans at their annual Remembrance Day parade and ceremony on Tuesday, November 11 at 10:40am. Find details on all Remembrance Day ceremonies held throughout the Township.
