Mosquito Control, June 30

An aerial mosquito control treatment of Brae Island is scheduled to occur Thursday, June 30 between 4:00 and 8:00pm. This treatment is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled if required.
Bti, short for Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies israelensis, is an environmentally-friendly pellet larvicide that is not toxic to humans and is 80-90% effective in reducing mosquito populations at the larval stage of life. Morrow BioScience, the Township’s nuisance mosquito control contractor, will carry out this treatment.
Do your part
Fight the bite by keeping your property free of standing water (drain birdbaths, dispose of old tires, keep drains, eavestroughs, and basins dry, etc.); take extra care at dusk and dawn (when mosquitoes are most active); wear loose-fitting, light-coloured clothing; and use mosquito repellent.
