New Arena Complex Announced

On Tuesday October 10, Township of Langley Mayor and Council announced the addition of three new ice arenas and two new dry floor arenas to be located at the Langley Events Centre. The announcement was greeted by an enthusiastic crowd of community members, local sports association leaders, and youth athletes who attended the event.

Many attended the celebration announcement to view information, drawings, and ask questions about the amazing new facility which will offer stacked arenas among other features. Speeches were given by Township Mayor Eric Woodward, Anne Kang, Minister of Municipal Affairs, Megan Dykeman, MLA for Langley East, and leaders of local sports associations who expressed their gratitude for the new arenas.

“Langley is a regional hub for sport and recreation, with athletes travelling to the Langley Events Centre from all over North America to compete,” said Megan Dykeman, MLA for Langley East. “As Langley has grown, people have been noticing a lack of rink availability for teams and community members. By supporting the growing Langley community, our government is making sure that athletes and residents have better access to ice and dry floor arenas now and in the years ahead.”
