Eric Woodward, Mayor, Township of Langley
"We absolutely need new ice sheets and dry floors to meet the demand from our community's growth, with a vision to have and enjoy what other communities take for granted, funded from development, not property taxes. With the Township of Langley growing like we are, it's well past the time to start the next phase of the Langley Events Centre. It's well past the time to finally plan and build not just for today, but for the future, from roads to recreation."
Anne Kang, Minister of Municipal Affairs
“Athletes and residents of Langley now will have more space to gather and improve their lives through activity, camaraderie, and friendly competition,” said Anne Kang, Minister of Municipal Affairs. “Local governments, like the Township of Langley, are working hard to upgrade their facilities and infrastructure as their communities grow. The Province’s billion-dollar investment in local infrastructure means that projects like this arena complex are moving forward and making lives better for British Columbians.”
Megan Dykeman, MLA for Langley East
“Langley is a regional hub for sport and recreation, with athletes travelling to the Langley Events Centre from all over North America to compete,” said Megan Dykeman, MLA for Langley East. “As Langley has grown, people have been noticing a lack of rink availability for teams and community members. By supporting the growing Langley community, our government is making sure that athletes and residents have better access to ice and dry floor arenas now and in the years ahead.”
