New exhibit invites visitors to discover Langley’s stories with free opening weekend

Journey through stories of belonging, community, and connection when Langley: Many Voices, Shared
Place opens at salishan Place by the River on Saturday, June 27.

Drawing from the museum collection, the new exhibition brings Langley’s history to life through objects, photographs, and community stories that highlight the diverse people and experiences that have shaped the community over time.

“We’re excited to welcome people into the space,” said Kobi Christian, Arts and Heritage Curator. “The exhibit really
speaks to how people connect to a place, to how they find community. It’s a great starting point to engage in local
storytelling again and let visitors know what kinds of resources are available to them at salishan.”

To celebrate the exhibit opening, admission will be free on Saturday, June 27 from 9am to 5pm and Sunday, June 28 from
10am to 4pm, giving residents and visitors an opportunity to explore the exhibition at no cost. Regular admission fees
begin on Monday, June 29.

Located in Fort Langley at 23430 Mavis Avenue, salishan Place by the River is the Township of Langley’s newest arts,
culture, and heritage centre. The 40,000-square-foot facility, which also houses the Fort Langley Library, features a
museum, printmaking studio, presentation theatre, banquet conference space, and flexible meeting and event spaces
available to rent.
