New Funding for W.C. Blair Recreation Centre

The Township of Langley is pleased to announce that we have been awarded federal and provincial funding toward the expansion and renovation of W.C. Blair Recreation Centre.

The total contribution will result in $1,634,770 in federal funding and $408,693 in provincial funding to accommodate pandemic protocols and community needs by increasing capacity and improving service through an expansion of the fitness area, and a number of facility improvements including flooring, plumbing, electrical and mechanical system upgrades.

“Recreation centres are at the heart of every community, and their value to our mental, physical and social health has become abundantly clear during the pandemic. Federal and provincial funding under the COVID-19 Resilience Infrastructure Program will help us expand and perform much-needed improvements to the WC Blair community centre in the Township of Langley, providing members of our community with a safe and physically-distanced place to enjoy a variety of sports, maintain active lifestyles and connect with each other year-round, for years to come.”
