New Holland Canadian Junior Curling Championships

Our country’s top young curlers will battle in Langley from January 18 to 26 to become Canadian Champions.

The best young curlers in the country are coming to the Township of Langley and local sports fans will have the unique opportunity to see them battle for the national title in their own backyard.

The 2020 New Holland Canadian Junior Curling Championships will be held at the George Preston Recreation Centre in Brookswood from January 18 to 26. Fourteen Junior Boys rinks and 14 Junior Girls rinks - made up of the best under-21 competitors from each of the ten provinces, Northern Ontario, the Northwest Territories, Yukon, and Nunavut - will take to the ice, and the public is encouraged to come out and watch the action.

Whether you are a hard-core curling fan or a newcomer wanting to get in on the excitement, the Championships will offer a chance to witness the intense skill, teamwork, and dedication involved in the sport, as the teams vie to be the best in Canada.

This prestigious curling competition is a great addition to the line-up of major national and international sporting events the Township has hosted over the years. With its world-class facilities, dedicated volunteers, and enthusiastic supporters, the Township is known as an exceptional sports town and is honoured to welcome events such as the 2019 World Lacrosse Men’s Indoor World Championship and the upcoming Canadian Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Presented by Curling Canada and hosted by the Langley Curling Centre, the 2020 New Holland Canadian Junior Curling Championships will take place at the newly upgraded George Preston Recreation Centre, at 20699 - 42 Avenue. The Centre’s arena and curling club have been completely renovated and a brand new restaurant is now on site. Curling action will take place on five sheets in George Preston and three more in the Curling Centre.

Full-event passes, day passes, and tickets for particular draws are available. Admission is free for children under 16 who are accompanied by an adult family member.

Winners of the 2020 New Holland Canadian Junior Curling Championships will go on to represent Canada at the 2020 World Junior Championships in Russia in February.
