Road closure: 208 Street between 72 Avenue and 76 Avenue, July 11

Updated July 12 at 7:30am: The gas line is repaired and 208 Street is now open to traffic as normal.
Due to a gas service strike, 208 Street between 72 Avenue and 76 Avenue is closed in both directions. Emergency services and Fortis BC is on site to assess the damage and determine the best course of action.
Traffic control personnel are on site and traffic is being detoured using 72 Avenue and 76 Avenue. Please follow the guidance of detour signs and traffic control personnel.
208 Street is expected to be reopened by tomorrow morning, following the repairs completed by FortisBC. However, crews are working towards reopening the roadway as soon as possible. Please check back for updates.
