Road closure: 72 Avenue between 208A Street and 210 Street, August 26

Updated August 26 at 10:00pm: Fortis BC has repaired the damage and 72 Avenue is open.
Updated August 26 at 3:30pm: Fortis BC has advised that 72 Avenue will be closed until estimated time 8 to 9pm today. Fortis BC is managing the road closure and detour route. View detour route map.
Due to a gas service strike, 72 Avenue between 208A Street and 210 Street is closed in both directions. Emergency Services and FortisBC are on site working to repair the damage.
Traffic is being detoured using 71A Avenue. Local access is being maintained for residents on 209A Street. Please follow the guidance of the detour signs and traffic control personnel.
72 Avenue is expected to be reopen by late afternoon, following the repairs completed by FortisBC. However, crews are working towards reopening the roadway as soon as possible. Please check back for updates.
