Update January 7 at 1:35pm: 86 Avenue from 200 Street to 201B Street has now reopened to two-way traffic.
86 Avenue between 200 Street and 201B Street is closed in both directions due to a gas service strike. FortisBC is on site working to repair the damage.
Traffic is being detoured using 84 Avenue and 88 Avenue. Local access is being maintained for residents and businesses on 86 Avenue via 201 Street and 201B St. Please follow the guidance of detour signs and traffic control personnel.
86 Avenue will reopen once FortisBC completes the necessary repairs. Crews are working to reopen the roadway as soon as possible. Please check back for updates.
