Survey Seeks To Enhance Township Communication

Are you wandering the web, forever on Facebook, attached to Twitter, partial to pamphlets, or need a newspaper in your hands?

The Township of Langley has launched a survey to learn what information community members want, how and where they find it, and how they prefer to receive it from the Township. The survey outcomes will inform planning with the goal of enhancing the overall communications that keep people up-to-date on news, events, programs, services, and projects taking place in the community.

Members of the public can take the Township’s 2020 Communications Survey at surveymonkey.ca/r/info2020.

If preferred, hard copies can be completed at the Customer Service counter at the Township’s Civic Facility. The survey can also be completed at community outreach events being held at the Walnut Grove Community Centre on Wednesday, November 27 from 9:00am to 11:00am, at the Repair Café at Fire Hall 5 in Brookswood on Saturday, November 30, from 10:00am to noon, and at Willowbrook Shopping Centre on Sunday, December 15, from 1:00 to 3:00pm.

“The Township presently uses numerous methods and channels to communicate with the public,” said Steve Scheepmaker, the Township’s Director of Corporate Administration. “However, as the needs and expectations of the public change with respect to communications, we also need to adapt and change.”

With over 126,000 residents, 7,000 businesses, and thousands of visitors exploring the community annually, the Township wants people to find the information they are looking for quickly and easily, whether it is for personal or professional reasons.

All those who complete the survey before December 18 will be entered into a draw to win one of three grand prizes of a pair of Vancouver Giants tickets, a Cineplex movie night for four, and afternoon high tea for two at the Little White House.
