Trees Planted Honouring Community Members and Pioneers

A tree-planting and sign unveiling ceremony honouring the contributions and memories of Township community members and pioneers was held on Friday, April 25 at McLeod Athletic Park, with Township Mayor Eric Woodward, Councillors, and family members in attendance.
“By planting these trees, we not only commemorate the lives of those who gave so much to our community, but also create a lasting symbol of their inspiring influence. Today, as we plant, we remember their efforts to build a better Township of Langley.” - Township Mayor Eric Woodward
Eight trees were planted including: four Metasequoia glyptostroboides (Dawn Redwood) - honouree's from Mayor and Council; three Betula nigra (River Birch) - honouree's from Mayor and Council; and one Betula nigra (River Birch) - honouring pioneers who have passed away in 2024. Three signs were also erected at the area and were unveiled during the ceremony.
