Trees Planted Honouring Community Members and Pioneers
A tree-planting and sign unveiling ceremony honouring the contributions and memories of Township community members and pioneers was held on Saturday September 28at Aldergrove Athletic Park, with Township Mayor Woodward, Councillors, and family members in attendance.
“Planting these trees is a way to honour the lives of those who contributed so much to our community. As we gathered to plant these trees, we remembered the inspiration they brought to our community and all they did to make the Township of Langley a better place,” said Township Mayor Eric Woodward.
Ten trees were planted including: five Styrax japonicus (Japanese Snowbell) - honouree's from Mayor and Council; four Cornus nuttalii x florida (Eddies White Wonder) - honouree's from Mayor and Council; and one Cedrus atlantica (Glauca) – honouring pioneers who have passed away in 2023. Three signs were also erected at the area and were unveiled during the ceremony.
