Trees Planted to Celebrate the Legacy of Community Members and Pioneers
Hudson Bay Park was the setting this afternoon for a commemorative ceremony recognizing the lasting contributions of Township community members and pioneers. Mayor Eric Woodward, members of Council, and families of those being honoured gathered for a tree planting and sign unveiling marking the occasion.
“By planting these trees, we not only commemorate the lives of those who gave so much to our community, but also create a lasting symbol of their inspiring influence. Today, as we plant, we remember their efforts to build a better Township of Langley.” – Township Mayor Eric Woodward
The ceremony included the planting of eight trees: four Prairifire Flowering Crabapple (Malus ‘Prairifire’), three Forest Green Oak (Quercus frainetto ‘Schmidt’) and one Dogwood (Cornus ‘Eddie’s White Wonder’).
In addition, three commemorative signs were unveiled, offering visitors an opportunity to reflect on the individuals and pioneers whose contributions helped shape the community.
