Yorkson Creek Trail Bridge Now Open

The Yorkson Creek Trail bridge replacement project is complete, and the popular pedestrian connection between communities north and south of 88 Avenue has reopened. The bridge was closed to the public in 2019 following safety concerns, and work to replace the existing wooden bridge with a new structure began in 2021.
“Reintroducing this bridge to the community is a step toward ensuring our communities are safely travelled by pedestrians and cyclists,” said Ritti Suvilai, Landscape Design Coordinator at the Township of Langley. “Using the Yorkson Creek Trail and the new bridge can help residents get to where they want to be and makes accessing the nearby schools and businesses along 88 Avenue easier.”
Take a leisurely stroll through the greenway over Yorkson Creek’s steep ravine and connect with other trails such as Walnut Grove, Derby Hills, and Northwest Langley. Instead of using a car for short-distance errands, residents are invited to try a walkable route to complete their trip and enjoy fresh air and nature along the way.
