Annual clean up of personal items at cemeteries

The Township of Langley recognizes and respects the importance of being able to remember, celebrate, and honour loved ones in municipal cemeteries through the placement of flowers.
Keeping the cemetery clean, well manicured, and safe for all is also an important part of municipal responsibilities. As adornments and decorations are placed and accumulate over time, they break or deteriorate creating a challenging and unsafe situation for maintenance staff who cut the lawns and the public who visit the cemetery.
In support of that, we respectfully ask families to retrieve restricted adornments prior to Monday, April 14, 2025, following Cemetery Bylaw 2016 No. 5236, to help keep staff and visitors safe, while sustaining the ongoing beauty of the cemetery, and the honouring of loved ones.
