Meet Asher the Fire Dog
The Township of Langley Fire Department is excited to introduce our newest team member, Asher the Fire Dog!
“Asher’s mission is to promote fire safety in the Township of Langley,” said Fire Chief Jason de Roy. “Asher will be lending a paw to firefighters, teaching children how to stop, drop and roll, attending community events and more. We’re delighted to have Asher on our team.”
Asher was named by Nadine Krikke’s Grade 6 class at Credo Christian School, through a contest that was open to all public and private elementary school classes in the Township. Thank you to all the classes who participated, and congratulations to the winning class who will receive a pizza party, goodie bags, and visit with Asher and firefighters in June.
“There were many excellent and creative names to choose from,” added Chief de Roy. “It was not an easy decision, but in the end, we decided Asher was the perfect name.”
