National Volunteer Week

This National Volunteer Week (April 24 to 30), the Township thanks the many volunteers who selflessly share their time, skills, and expertise to make our community a better place.
From keeping trails and creeks clean through the Adopt-a-Program to educating neighbours about waste reduction through the Recycling Ambassador Program, providing programs, tours, and assisting with exhibits at Langley Centennial Museum, and helping make special events fun and memorable, volunteers make a big difference throughout the year.
Join us in thanking volunteers like Mark Forsythe, who is a member of the Exhibition Development Advisory Group for Salishan Place, and a part of the Museum’s history group.
Mark says, “The construction of Salishan Place is one of the most exciting developments I’ve seen in my 30 years of living in the Township. It’s rewarding to be part of a community-based group that’s exploring innovative ways to create exhibits that will share stories of Indigenous and settler experiences in the Langley region in an engaging way. The time is ripe for truth-telling that reflects the real diversity of experiences from our past, present, and collective future. I can hardly wait until opening day!”
