Collection zone changes to select Willoughby and Willowbrook areas

To continue delivering reliable collection services to residents in our growing community, changes to the current collection zones are required in some Willoughby and Willowbrook neighbourhoods.

Properties located within the yellow highlighted zones (see map) will see their collection day shift to a new schedule starting in February 2025. All properties impacted by these collection zone changes will receive a letter in the next few weeks detailing their revised collection schedule. Collection zone changes are outlined below.

To accommodate these zone changes, properties with municipal garbage service will receive garbage pickup for two consecutive weeks before returning to bi-weekly collection.

Properties located within the affected areas that only receive recycling collection through the Township are also included in this collection day adjustment. Changes only affect municipal collection programs. This change will not affect the day of privately contracted garbage and/or organics collection.

Willoughby

Current zone: Monday A

New zone: Wednesday B

First pick up in new zone: Wednesday, February 5 (garbage, Green Cart, and recycling)

Properties within the area outlined in red will be affected by the collection zone changes: South of Hwy 1, North of 83 Avenue and 80 Avenue between 208 Street and 216 Street.

Willowbrook

Current zone: Monday B

New zone: Tuesday A

First date of pick up in new zone: Tuesday, February 11 (garbage, Green Cart, and recycling)

Properties within the area outlined in red will be affected by the collection zone changes: West of Hwy 10, East of 208 Street between Crush Crescent; 72 Avenue and Mulford Crescent.

Willowbrook (recycling only)

Current zone: Monday 

New zone: Tuesday 

First pick up in new zone: Tuesday, February 11 (recycling only) 

Properties within the area outlined in red will be affected by the recycling collection zone changes: West of Hwy 10, East of Willowbrook Connector between Crush Crescent and Mulford Crescent.

The Township encourages residents to sign up for weekly collection reminders at tol.ca/calendar. This also allows the Township to notify areas affected by collection delays due to winter weather, construction, or other unforeseen circumstances.
