The Township of Langley recognizes individuals who have touched or enriched the lives of others by volunteering. Whether it’s volunteering for a non-profit or community organization, coaching children’s sports, helping to protect the environment, or assisting those in need, volunteers greatly contribute to the well-being of our community.
The Township is pleased to recognize outstanding volunteers and their contributions through the annual Volunteer Awards. Nominations for the 2024 Volunteer Awards are now open.

Township of Langley Volunteer Award Categories
- Eric Flowerdew Volunteer Award recognizes an individual who enhances Langley’s quality of life and community spirit through creative, cultural, physical, or social pursuits.
- John and Muriel Arnason Award recognizes a pair of individuals who volunteer together to make Langley a better place.
- Pete Swensson Outstanding Community Youth Award recognizes a Grade 11 or 12 student for their combination of athletic and academic achievements, leadership skills, and commitment to the community. Nominees are selected by senior school staff. No public nominations accepted.
Nominations must be received by Monday, February 24, 2025.

Recipients of the Flowerdew and Arnason community awards will receive a monetary award to contribute to a recognized charity or society which positively supports Township of Langley residents. The Swensson outstanding student recipient will receive a $1,500 scholarship.
Awards will be presented at the Township of Langley Volunteer Appreciation and Awards Evening on Thursday, April 10, 2025.
