Overnight traffic diversions on Highway 1 between Glover Road and 248 Street, starting on February 22 to mid-March

As part of the 232 Street Interchange Project, to continue advancing the widening of Highway 1 through the Fraser Valley, the following overnight traffic diversions will take place from February 22 to mid-March.

 Diversions for westbound Highway 1 traffic:

• Diversions will be in place overnight from 8:30 pm to 5 am weekdays and 8 am on weekends.
• During this time, westbound access to the 232nd Street off-ramp will be closed.
• Drivers will be able to exit Highway 1 at 216th Street.
• Single-lane traffic will be maintained in each direction on Highway 1.

Reduced speed limited of 60 km/h will continue to be in place. Drivers are reminded to slow down and use caution, adhere to signage and traffic-control personnel, and watch for roadside workers.

Night work is scheduled for January 12 and 13 at the intersection of Fraser Highway and 272 Street, occurring between 10pm and 5am. Traffic control personnel will be on site and delays may be experienced.

Traffic impact: Nathan Slough Bridge 272 Street and 8800 Block, October 10 until further notice
Maintenance on the Nathan Slough Bridge at 272 Street, between the 8700 and 8800 Block, will result in a speed reduction of 30km/hour from October 10 to 13. Signage is in place to indicate speed reduction. Starting October 14 until further notice, the south bound lane (west half of bridge) will be closed to traffic with single lane alternating traffic allowed via temporary traffic signal. Temporary barriers have been installed on the south bound lane.

Eastbound Highway 1 diversions will begin as early as Thursday, January 29 and continue through Thursday, February 12 during the following overnight hours: weekdays from 9:00pm to 5:30am and weekends from 9:00pm to 7:30am.

During this period:

• The 232 Street eastbound off‑ramp will be closed.
• Drivers may exit Highway 1 at 216 Street.
• Single‑lane traffic will be maintained in both directions.
• A reduced speed limit of 60 km/h will be in place.

224 Street between Fraser Highway and 48 Avenue is scheduled to close to traffic beginning 7am to 5pm Monday through Friday, until February 6. The closure will be in effect during these hours. A detour route will be in effect and indicated by signage.

Utility work on Fraser Highway between 27100 Block and 27300 Block is scheduled for December 15 to March 27 and will result in single lane alternating traffic from 9:00am to 2:30pm.

Additionally, utility work will occur on 272 Street, between 29A Avenue and the 3100 Block, with single lane alternating traffic from 9:00am to 2:30pm.

Traffic impact: 86 Avenue between 200 Street and 202B Street, December 1 to Fall 2026
86 Avenue Road Improvements between 200 Street and 202B Street is scheduled to start on Dec 1 resulting in single lane alternating traffic from 9am to 3pm, Monday to Friday. This work will include widening to four lanes, left turn lanes, new traffic signals at 201 Street and 202 Street, raised medians, bike lanes and/or multi-use pathways, boulevard landscaping, street lights, water mains, and a culvert extension. Work is scheduled to be complete Fall 2026 subject to delays related to weather, permitting or third party installations. We thank you in advance for your patience as we construct this project which will help alleviate traffic congestion in this area.

Surveying work on Fraser Highway between 20300 Block to 20400 Block is scheduled for January 20 and will result in single lane alternating traffic on Tuesday, 8am to 12pm. Traffic control personnel will be on site and delays may be experienced.

Traffic impact: Highway 1 westbound between west of Mt. Lehman Road to west of 264 Street, mid-August
As part of the Fraser Valley Highway 1 Corridor Improvement Program, Highway 1 traffic patterns will change near 264 Street Interchange; drivers are advised to plan for these upcoming changes.

Starting mid-August 2025, traffic along Highway 1 westbound, from west of Mt. Lehman Road to west of 264 Street, will move to newly constructed lanes in the median. The reconfigured westbound off- and on-ramps at 264 Street will connect to these new lanes.

As early as mid-September 2025, traffic along Highway 1 eastbound, from east of 264 Street to east of Mt. Lehman Road, will move to newly constructed lanes in the median and onto the new westbound Bradner overpass.

These changes are in addition to ongoing overnight lane closures and are needed for the continued safe construction of the 264 Street Interchange, advancing the widening of Highway 1 through the Fraser Valley.

As part of the Highway 1 - 264 Street Interchange Project, there will be overnight rolling closures in effect from the evening of August 6 until the morning of August 10. Each slow roll closure may last up to 20 minutes, with a total of four (4) slow roll closures anticipated throughout the duration of this work. Traffic queues will be monitored in real time to manage flow and minimize delays.

Road closure and traffic impact: 88 Avenue between 256 Street and 264 Street, August 5 to 29
Culvert replacement work on 88 Avenue, just west of the 264 Street intersection, will result in a road closure of 88 Avenue between 256 Street and 264 Street from August 5 to 15. A detour route will be in effect and indicated by signage. View detour map. 

Once 88 Avenue reopens, continued work on 264 Street, just south of 88 Avenue, will result in single lane alternating traffic on Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm, from August 18 to 29. Traffic control personnel will be on site and delays may be experienced.

While every effort is being made to complete the project as quickly as possible, motorists are advised to consider alternate routes and allow extra time to reach their destination safely.

Additionally, single lane alternating traffic will be in effect on 30A Avenue between 262 Street and 264 Street, from Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm. Traffic control personnel will be on site and delays may be experienced.

Fortis BC work on 213A St between 56 Avenue and 57A Avenue will result in single lane alternating traffic from 7am to 4pm on July 28 to August 15. Traffic control personnel will be on site and delays may be experienced.

Traffic Impact: Culvert replacement work on 63 Avenue at the 24200 Block, July 28 to Late September
Culvert replacement work on 63 Avenue at the 24200 block is scheduled to start this summer. The Township of Langley has selected a contractor to perform the work, and pre-construction planning for replacing the existing culvert is currently underway.

Construction will begin Monday, July 28 and is scheduled to take place Monday through Saturday, between 7am and 5pm. Project completion is anticipated for late September. During this time, 63 Avenue at the 24200 Block will remain open with a 24-hour a day single lane alternating traffic flow in place. Traffic control personnel will be on site during normal working hours. Outside of the working hours, automated traffic control signals will be in place. Construction noise, dust, and traffic delays along 63 Avenue may be experienced.

Traffic impact: Fraser Highway between 271 Street and 237 Street, July 16 to 31  
Utility scoping work is scheduled on Fraser Highway between 271 Street and 237 Street on July 16 to July 31. This work will result in single lane alternating traffic from Monday to Friday between 9:00am and 2:30pm.

Additionally, single lane alternating traffic will be in effect on 272 Street between 29A Avenue and Fraser Highway, from Monday to Friday between 9:00am and 2:30pm.

Traffic impact: 272 Street between 28A Avenue and 29 Avenue, extended to September 5
Maintenance work on 272 Street between 28A Avenue and 29 Avenue will result in single lane alternating traffic from 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday and has been extended to September 5. Traffic control personnel will be on site and delays may be experienced.

Traffic and pedestrian impact: St. Andrews Avenue between Glover Road and Nash Street, July 7 to September 1
Construction work on St. Andrews Avenue between Glover Road and Nash Street will result in single lane alternating traffic from Monday to Friday, 7am to 7pm, from July 7 to September 1. Traffic control personnel will be on site, and delays may be experienced. Due to this work, the sidewalk will also be closed from July 7 to August 22, and pedestrians will need to detour through the cemetery pathway located on the north side of the cemetery. Access to the Fort Langley Cemetery will remain available.

Road closure: Old Yale Road between 215 Street and 216 Street, July 2 to August 29
Old Yale Road between 215 Street and 216 Street is scheduled to close to traffic from July 2 to August 29 during the following times: Monday to Friday, 7am to 9pm and Saturday, 9am to 5pm. A detour route will be in effect and indicated by signage. 

Traffic impact: 88 Avenue and 252 Street intersection, Extended to August 8
Road widening and intersection improvement work at the intersection of 252 Street and 88 Avenue (which turns into River Road) will result in single lane alternating traffic from 7am to 8pm, has been extended to August 8. Traffic control personnel will be on site and delays may be experienced.

Traffic impact: 72 Avenue between 202A Street and 205 Street, June 27 to August 29
Widening work on 72 Avenue between 202A Street and 205 Street and 204 Street between 71B Avenue and 72 Avenue, will result in single lane alternating traffic from July 10 to August 29, on the following days and times: Monday to Friday 9am to 2:30pm (on July 17 work will be done 9am to 5pm) and Saturday and Sunday 9am to 3pm. Traffic control personnel will be on site and delays may be experienced.
